Fiware4Water developers’ Workshop

17/04/2020

This workshop aimed at introducing the Fiware4Water developers with the FIWARE ecosystem in general and more specifically with the NGSI-LD standard, giving inputs on where and how to start developing on the FIWARE platform, what is its position in the big picture of the Fiware4Water project and what are the expected benefits.

After a general overview of FIWARE and the NGSI-LD standard, it introduces the concepts and requirements of NGSI-LD and the underlying information context. It then goes deeper into the NGSI-LD graph-based information model and the cross-domain ontology it is based on. It is followed by an introduction to the NGSI-LD API, with a focus on some of the more powerful parts of the NGSI-LD API: temporal queries and subscriptions based notifications.

Finally, it presents an overall typical architecture of a FIWARE platform, the role and position of a context broker inside such a platform and existing NGSI-LD compliant brokers are introduced.
